Civilization VII Coming to iPhone, iPad as Part of Apple Arcade in February

The popular real-time strategy game “Sid Meier’s Civilization” produced by Firaxis Games is coming to Apple Arcade. Apple announced Thursday that “Civilization VII,” which will be released on PC and consoles in 2025, will launch a game subscription service on February 5, nearly a year after it was released on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo platforms. With the release of Apple Arcade, the strategy game will also be available on iPhone and iPad.

Civilization VII is coming to Apple Arcade

Sid Meier’s arcade version of Civilization VII will feature touch controls on iPhone and iPad. The game has launched on Mac and is now free to play with an Apple Arcade subscription.

The release of Civilization VII on Apple Arcade marks another PC and console game coming to Apple devices. Apple Arcade recently added PowerWash Simulator and Cult of the Lamb Arcade Edition to its library of games.

Civilization VII originally released on February 11, 2025 on PC (Windows, Mac, Linux), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch. It was released as a launch game on Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5.

Three more games coming to Apple Arcade

In addition to Civilization VII, Apple also announced that it will add three more games to the Apple Arcade library on February 5. First up is Retrocade for Apple Vision Pro. Retrocade throws the time back to the 1980s, allowing Vision Pro users to experience arcade games in a fully realized retro arcade. Retrocade will feature classic arcade games such as Asteroids, Bubble Bobble, Centipede, Galaga and more. While Vision Pro provides the most immersive way to play these games, they can also be experienced on iPhone and iPad.

The rhythm game “Felicity’s Door” and the puzzle game “I Love Hue Too+” will also be available on Apple Arcade. All games included in Apple Arcade will have no ads or in-app purchases.

Apple’s game subscription service has more than 200 games. Apple Arcade monthly subscription costs Rs. 99 in India. It also comes bundled with Apple One subscription starting at Rs. 195 a month. Users who purchase an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV or Mac can also use Apple Arcade for free for three months.
