EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Chargers fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman and offensive line coach Mike Devlin on Tuesday, two days after the team lost 16-3 to the New England Patriots in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
Roman has held the position with the Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers before spending two seasons as OC with the Chargers. Los Angeles went 11-6 in two straight seasons but lost its playoff opener each time by a combined 15 points in both games.

After Sunday night’s game, coach Jim Harbaugh was asked if Roman was the right person to call the game and declined to give Roman a vote of confidence.
“Right now I don’t have an answer,” he said. “We’re going to look at that and look at everything. We weren’t at our best tonight and that’s really a responsibility on me. I don’t have the answer. I wish I could.”
Devlin spent seven years as offensive line coach in Buffalo and Arizona and has been the offensive line coach with the Cardinals, Jets, Texans and Ravens, spending the last two seasons with the Cardinals.
Los Angeles lost two starting offensive tackles to injuries, and the Chargers’ quarterbacks were sacked 60 times in 2025, the second-most in the NFL. Justin Herbert was sacked six times on Sunday night.
The Chargers haven’t won a playoff game since 2018. Herbert’s career playoff record is 0-3.
