The Arizona Cardinals struggled in the 2025 NFL season, but they took the time to discover and expand the concepts and strategies that kept their offense going. Wide receiver Michael Wilson performed well during their workouts and will play an important role on the team’s offensive staff as they prepare for their Week 16 game against the Atlanta Falcons. Wilson has been under the radar for much of the year, but injuries to Marvin Harrison Jr. and quarterback Kyler Murray have given Wilson a chance to assert himself as a solid spot at No. 2 on the depth chart.

Wilson is tied for 18th in the NFL in receptions, which is impressive considering he spent most of the season playing with a backup quarterback. Wilson and Harrison are both excellent pass catchers who serve as the second and third options behind tight end Trey McBride in the offense, which will be key this afternoon as they look to beat the Falcons. Wilson’s best game of the season came in Week 11 against the San Francisco 49ers, when he was targeted 18 times and caught 15 passes for 185 yards.

Ultimately, it’s all about the Cardinals’ utility today, and as they reflect on this miserable season, they need to take some initiative and consider where they want to move forward next season. Wilson has proven he belongs on this team and has surpassed wide receivers Greg Dortch and Zay Jones as the best second option in the passing game. Hopefully fans can see Wilson light up the Falcons’ second game in Week 16.
