Cele on Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations chances

Nigeria national team coach Eric Scheele has reacted on whether his team can go all the way and lift the coveted Africa Cup of Nations trophy in Morocco.

The Super Eagles will take on Algeria in the quarter-finals of the Continental Championship in Marrakech on Saturday, January 10.
Cele’s team was considered one of the favorites for the championship, and they lived up to expectations, scoring 12 goals and conceding only 4 goals throughout the tournament.
When asked if Nigeria could dominate Africa again, the Franco-Malian tactician did not get carried away, choosing to focus on one game at a time.
“I would rather focus on Marrakech now, there is a game to play and after the game we can think about our accommodation, but now we go to Marrakech and I hope, if God is with me, we will go to another town,” Scherer said.

“But now we go to Marrakech and the story starts in Marrakech, so we have to focus on Marrakech, training and the next game.
Three-time African champions Nigeria, led by the late Stephen Keshi, will be desperate to win the prestigious trophy for the first time since 2013.
