Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Seemingly Teased With New Website, Live-Action Videos

The next Call of Duty game seems to have been teased. The first trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has surfaced, showing real-life footage of a group of people desecrating Mount Rushmore and sending the message that “the truth is a lie.” The trailer is part of a website believed to be part of an early marketing push for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Additionally, an edited version of key artwork from the game appears to have been leaked.

CharlieIntel (an X account that posts Call of Duty updates) discovered that a new teaser website – thetruthlies.com – has surfaced, hinting at the next Call of Duty release. The site features an old-school interactive television, reminiscent of those seen in previous Call of Duty: Black Ops games, that allows users to flip through six channels, control volume, press the record button, and turn the TV off and on.

Channel One of the television showed live footage of a group of heavily armed mercenaries scaling Mount Rushmore at night and vandalizing the monument with a banner that read “Truth Lies.”

The second channel also showed a video of a group of people putting up “Truth Lies” posters on the street. The remaining four channels feature TV static, suggesting four more video trailers will appear in time.

Additionally, reliable leaker billbil-kun posted a blurry image of key art said to be from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Wednesday night. The image, while blurry, looks similar to the box art for 2010’s Call of Duty: Black Ops.

While Activision has yet to confirm the next Call of Duty game, it is expected to launch later this year. Earlier this month, Treyarch, the developer responsible for previous Black Ops games, reportedly hinted that the next Call of Duty game could be Black Ops 6. 2020’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is the final and fifth game in the Black Ops series.

Last week, reports surfaced that Microsoft, which last year completed its $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, the maker of Call of Duty, plans to release the upcoming shooter series through its Game Pass subscription service.

Microsoft also announced that it will host an Xbox Game Showcase on June 9, where it will show a direct demo dedicated to the next Call of Duty.
