Butte boys pull away from Glacier; Bulldog girls down Wolfpack

Jan. 11—Hudson Luedtke scored 29 points and the Butte boys stayed undefeated with a 72-57 win over Glacier on Saturday, while the Bulldog girls took control early, defeating the Wolfpack 72-37 to sweep the Western AA basketball dual meet at the Wolf Den.

The Bulldog boys (7-0 overall, 2-0 West AA) went on a 10-2 run from the end of the third quarter to the fourth quarter to take a 55-44 lead. Luedtke sparked the game with a contested 3-pointer just before the buzzer sounded in the third quarter.

Lutke finished Kalispell’s road trip with 29 points and 58 points with seven 3-pointers on Friday against Flathead.

Bart Boy 72, Glacier 57

Rhett Arntson added 13 points for the Bulldogs, while Cayde Stajcar and Mike Verlanic added 12 points each.

Cooper Pelc scored 17 points and Asher Knopik scored 13 for the Wolfpack (3-4, 0-2 conference).

At the beginning of the second quarter, the Glacier team led 16-10, and then the Bart team went on a 7-1 spurt to tie the score at 17.

In the final minute, Butt passed to Brady Hansen on an alley-oop off Lutke’s rebound to give the Bulldogs a 70-52 lead.

Bart Girl 72, Glacier 37

The Bulldogs (4-3 overall, 2-0 West AA) turned a 9-9 tie into a 23-9 advantage early in the second on Cadence Graham’s 3-pointer late in the first quarter.

Graham finished with 16 points. Eli Graham also scored 16 points, including four three-pointers.

Bart took a total of seven shots from beyond the arc.

Karley Allen scored 15 points for the Wolfpack (1-6, 0-2). She scored five points in the first quarter as Glacier stayed close in the opening five minutes.

Remi Osler scored six goals, all in the first half.

Glacier returns to the court Tuesday as they travel to Missoula and take on the Big Sky at 7 p.m.
