Bundle up, Florida! Freeze, frost warnings cover most of state

As promised, it was a cold day in Florida on the morning of Tuesday, February 24th.

Guess Punxsutawney Phil and Florida Conch were right in predicting six more weeks of winter.

Cold weather warnings have been issued for 63 of Florida’s 67 counties, extending as far south as Miami-Dade County.

Freeze warnings were issued Tuesday morning for 40 counties stretching as far south as Collier County on Florida’s west coast and St. Lucie County on the east coast.

There were even multiple frost warnings issued for 39 counties early Tuesday.

At 6:30 a.m., the temperature was 32 degrees and the wind chill was 27 degrees.
