The Cleveland Browns are looking to replace Jim Schwartz after he submitted his resignation to the team last week.
A quick list has been shortlisted this week, including two internal candidates. However, the new outside candidate is Los Angeles Rams defensive passing coordinator and defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant. The name joins the list of Atlanta Falcons assistant coaches, Carolina Panthers assistant coaches and New York Giants assistant coaches.
In 2013, Pleasant served as an offensive assistant with the Browns. That was his first year in the NFL. He has since made his mark in the NFL, but is playing for the Rams for only the second time since 2023. He has experience as passing game coordinator with the Detroit Lions and retains the same role in Los Angeles since 2021. However, Pleasant has never held a defensive coordinator role.
