Broncos passing game coordinator Davis Webb could be promoted
Denver Broncos offensive passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb has quickly become one of the hottest names on the coaching market. Weber has interviewed for head coaching vacancies with the Las Vegas Raiders, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals. However, if he doesn’t land one of those jobs, a promotion from Denver could be on the table.

As of 5 p.m., NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported that the Broncos have fired offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, creating an immediate vacancy on the staff. With Weber already playing a key role in the offense and garnering interest around the league, he appears to be a strong internal candidate for the offensive coordinator role.
Any final decisions will have to be made once all head coaching positions are filled. It’s safe to say that Weber will be in good hands this upcoming season, both as the Broncos’ head coach and as their next offensive coordinator. If nothing happens with the Raiders, Browns or Cardinals, he would be a better fit and one of the favorites to get the head coaching job next season.
