Boyle prepares for last dance at Easter Road

Falkirk’s win was a timely boost for David Gray and his players, who have endured several major setbacks in their bid for a European spot.

It also shows the talent of Josh Campbell and what he can bring to a team that will be greatly changed in the new season.

Campbell, who turned 26 last week, has made 32 appearances this season but has only made six starts.

His two goals were typical of how a midfielder can sneak under the radar and find valuable space to trouble opposition defences.

He is now at an age where regular starts will be crucial to his career and he hopes those can come at Easter Road in the coming years.

While Hibs could still drop a place or move up to fourth, they look set to finish fifth, but the remaining two games against Rangers and Motherwell are far from meaningless as good performances and wins may just be the deciding factor in how management view future deals.

Sunday will also be a bittersweet moment for Martin Boyle. He will play his final game for Hibs and fans will be keen to show their appreciation for his contribution to the club.

He initially joined on loan from Dundee before signing a permanent deal and, apart from a brief spell in Saudi Arabia, has been a standout performer for Hibs. With over 400 appearances, over 100 goals, club captaincy and numerous managerial changes under his belt, Boyle has dealt with everything that came his way.

For many of these players this will be their last appearance for the club and they deserve a decent send-off, but no one more than Boyle deserves to be able to savor the sunshine one last time at Leith.
