Amid intensified ICE raids in Minnesota, Bill Maher made blunt predictions about the midterm elections.

Program broadcast on Friday, January 23 Live with Bill MaherThe 70-year-old presenter returns in 2026 after an extended break.

In a discussion with guest panelists U.S. Sen. John F. Kennedy of Louisiana and CNN analyst Kathy Hunter, Maher brought up the increasingly aggressive ICE in Minnesota.

“Advice to the people of Minneapolis,” he said. “How about this? It’s too cold in this country with this storm going on. It’s too cold to fight and use this as an excuse, a face-saving excuse for everyone to go home.”

Maher continued: “ICE, you made your point. You made your point, okay? We’ve been involved in too many incidents with lawbreakers. Yes, that happened in [Joe] Biden. But like I said, these images are really ugly. I mean, when I think about some of the things that we’ve seen. “

“This guy was in his underwear and out in the cold with no clothes on,” he began, describing the photo on the screen of a U.S. citizen barley-clad as he was detained.

“This child,” he added, referring to a 5-year-old asylum seeker who was detained shortly after returning home from kindergarten.

Maher continued, “Pepper spray was sprayed in the face and the disabled woman was pulled from the vehicle.”

At that point, Maher turned to Kennedy and said, “John, I just want to say this to you,” he began. “I don’t want to be provocative right away.”

He then boldly declared, “My prediction is that your party is going to be kicked out of the midterm elections. Because that’s not what people voted for, and they’re going to hold the party accountable, which is what they’re supposed to do.”

In response, Kennedy noted, “I support enforcing our immigration laws. Now, how those laws are enforced matters.”
