Bethesda Teases New Content for Starfield on Game’s 2-Year Anniversary, Could Be Second Story DLC

Two years after the game’s release, Bethesda appears to be teasing new content for its space RPG Starfield. It’s not confirmed yet, but the studio is believed to be working on a new DLC. Since Starfield launched on PC and Xbox Series S/X in 2023, Bethesda has regularly released updates for the game. The game’s first, and so far only, expansion pack, Shattered Space, was released last year.

Bethesda teases ‘Terran Armada’

Bethesda posted a post on the game’s social media channels on Friday to commemorate the second anniversary of Starfield and express its gratitude to players. However, the post contains a hidden message that appears to tease new content for the game. Fans have pieced together frames from the video post and interpreted the phrase “Terran Armada” as a possible title for Starfield’s second major expansion.

Bethesda’s message in the video post also seems to hint at the new content: “Thank you to everyone who has joined us in exploring the settled galaxy. We look forward to the adventures to come.”

“Terran Armada” could be the title of the next expansion pack, or it could be a larger update that adds new content to the game. The name suggests it may have something to do with Earth, which in the game remains uninhabitable after its atmosphere collapsed.

Starry Sky New Story DLC

Starfield players have been waiting for the second expansion, but Bethesda has remained tight-lipped about the future of the game while pledging continued support. Last month, the developer rolled out update 1.15.222, which improved the game’s creation menu among other fixes. At the time, Bethesda said it was working on future updates and would share more information about “the exciting things we have planned for Starfield in the coming months.”

In a Developer Spotlight video last month, Starfield lead creative producer Tim Lamb said the studio was working on more free updates and features players have been asking for, as well as new story DLC.

As more and more Xbox games are coming to Sony consoles, there are also rumors that “Starfield” will be released on PS5. A report last month claimed that Starfield’s PlayStation release would coincide with the release of the game’s second expansion.

According to reports, Microsoft plans to bring “Starfield” to PS5 in the spring of 2026 (mid-March to mid-June). Starfield’s PS5 release date has been said to have been pushed back from 2025, in part due to poor sales of its first expansion, Shattered Space.

Starfield launches on PC and Xbox Series S/X on September 6, 2023. The game’s Shattered Space expansion pack was released on September 30, 2024.
