The Seattle Seahawks will face the Atlanta Falcons in a rematch from last year on Sunday. In 2024, the Seahawks traveled to Atlanta and defeated the Falcons 34-14. Now, Seattle is on the brink of a second straight 10-win season while the Falcons struggle.
Atlanta is a semi-frequent opponent for the Seahawks, but there’s still a lot to learn about them. We spoke with Falcons Wire’s Matt Urben to get a better understanding of the type of team Seattle faces. Our questions and Urben’s answers are as follows:

No. 1 – How does the Falcons offense perform with Kirk Cousins back in the saddle?
With Cousins playing center, the team’s offensive performance was average. He still doesn’t look like the player he was during the first half of the 2024 season. Cousins has a 1-2 record in three games against the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and New York Jets. The team still struggled in the third round and lacked the excitement we’ve seen from center Michael Penix Jr.. Cousins has looked better in each start but is without No. 1 wide receiver Drake London, who is injured.
Second – do you think Raheem Morris is likely to be in trouble?
Raheem Morris is in a very awkward position as the team’s win total has dropped. The Falcons are on pace for their eighth straight losing season, however, the defense has made some impressive improvements, especially the team’s rookie class. To his credit, Morris still seems to be respected by the locker room. Unless the Falcons continue to make significant progress, though, Morris could be out after the season.

No. 3 – Falcons 12th Man Who is a non-household name you should know about?
Brandon Dorlus is a former fourth-round pick who barely played as a rookie last season. Fans were initially surprised when he was listed as the Week 1 starter on the depth chart, but Dorus is having a breakout campaign. The former Oregon Ducks standout has a team-leading six sacks this season. His versatility and pass-rushing ability helped him thrive in Jeff Ubrich’s scheme.
No. 4 – Falcons beat Seahawks if…
If the defense pressures Sam Darnold and forces turnovers, the Falcons will have a chance on Sunday. Atlanta defeated the Buffalo Bills in Week 6 with a stellar defensive performance, and I think they’ll need a similar effort to beat this talented Seahawks team. Offensively, the Falcons will need to rely heavily on Bejan Robinson. The former top-10 pick racked up nearly 200 yards of offense in last week’s loss to the Jets.

Point 5 – Who won and why?
Seattle will win Sunday’s game because they are the more complete team. The Falcons offense is struggling, and even if their defense plays well, I don’t know if Kirk Cousins and company can score enough points to win. I predict the Falcons will get off to a strong start in the first quarter, but the Seahawks defense will be too physical for Atlanta throughout the game. I think Seattle will win by a score of 24-20.
