The Chicago Bears’ magical 2025 season ended in brutal fashion with a 20-17 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the divisional playoffs. Now that the offseason has begun, Chicago is expected to lose several assistant coaches.
That includes running backs coach Eric Bieniemy, who has drawn interest from the offensive coordinator. The Kansas City Chiefs have requested to interview Bieniemy for the offensive coordinator job, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Bieniemy previously served as Kansas City’s head coach from 2018-22.

According to Dianna Russini, the Chiefs have been working on Bieniemy for the past few weeks in anticipation that current Chiefs and former Bears head coach Matt Nagy would be offered the head coaching job. Bieniemy is expected to return to Kansas City as offensive coordinator.
There will be more to come.
