With only a week left in free agency, trade rumors are swirling around the Chicago Bears , who appear to be becoming sellers. One of the most interesting names is linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, who is expected to be a salary cap casualty. But he appears to be winning trade interest.
Last week, the Bears allowed Edmonds to seek a trade. While many don’t expect Chicago to find a trade partner, ESPN insider Jeremy Fowler said Edmunds has “strong trade value” and “a good trade opportunity.” Fowler noted interest from the Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants.
Bears linebacker Tremaine Edmunds is a player with strong trade value and a decent trade opportunity. The Titans, Raiders and Giants are all teams interested in the high-end linebacker, and they like Edmonds, who is only 27 years old even though he’s been in the league for eight years. He was cleared to seek a trade earlier this week.
The Bears signed Edmunds to a four-year, $72 million contract in 2023, and he is entering the final year of that contract. But considering Edmunds took a huge hit against the salary cap that isn’t showing up on the field and Chicago is already over the cap, it makes him an obvious cut candidate.

Considering Edmonds is a strong cut candidate, which would save $15 million in salary cap space and $2.43 million in dead money, getting him draft compensation would be a huge win for general manager Ryan Bolles.
