Electronics Arts has announced that the next Battlefield game will be revealed this week. The company also confirmed the game’s official title and claimed that an official announcement is imminent. Battlefield 6 (yes, this is an official game) will release a trailer on July 24th. EA has yet to reveal further details about the game, but has previously said it will be released in fiscal 2026.
“Battlefield 6” trailer released
The official Battlefield account confirmed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday that the Battlefield 6 trailer will debut on Thursday. The trailer will premiere on July 24 at 8:27 pm IST. The post was accompanied by a 20-second trailer showing off key art from the game, depicting soldiers in a war zone.
The trailer’s current description on YouTube reads: “Get ready for the ultimate Total War experience in Battlefield 6.”
Battlefield 6 will mark the series’ return after a disappointing long hiatus with the release of Battlefield 2042 in 2021. This will be the 13th major entry in the series.
Battlefield 6 leaked details
Last week, some creators posted images of packages sent by EA, confirming that the next Battlefield game will be called Battlefield 6. There are reports that the shooter is about to be revealed. A Battlefield creator claims the game will be revealed as part of a three-day event at the end of July.
Earlier this year, EA showed off the pre-alpha gameplay footage of Battlefield 6 for the first time and said it would incorporate player feedback during game testing to improve the game before release. Leaks from these community playtests already give us an idea of what’s to come.
Last year, EA confirmed that the next Battlefield game would return to a modern setting, following the Battlefield 2042 series’ foray into the future. Battlefield 6 will also bring back player-favorite 64-player multiplayer maps and the series’ traditional career system. Battlefield 2042 was criticized upon launch for its extensive changes to the familiar Battlefield formula, including its multiplayer “expert” system and lack of a single-player campaign.
EA is likely to announce a release date for Battlefield 6 when it unveils the game on Thursday. CEO Andrew Wilson confirmed during the company’s fiscal 2025 fourth-quarter earnings call that the game will launch in fiscal 2026.
