Battlefield 6 Season 2 has been postponed. EA announced on Tuesday that it would be extending the first season to give it more time to further refine and polish the second season. Battlefield 6 Season 2 will launch next month on February 17th, while Season 1 will be extended beyond its January 20th end date. EA will also roll out a new update next week as part of the extended Season 1.
Battlefield 6 Season 2 Delayed
The decision to delay content for the game’s second season was announced in a blog post on the Battlefield 6 website on Tuesday. EA said it reviewed community feedback and determined that delaying Season 2 was the “best path forward.”
Battlefield 6 Season 2 will launch on February 17th on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X. On January 20, EA will launch a new content update as part of the extended Season 1, bringing new weekly challenges, reward paths, and the continuation of the Season 1 Battle Pass until the start of Season 2.
EA said it will share more details about Season 2 content in February and a larger 2026 roadmap for Battlefield 6 and RedSec in the near future.
“We are also enhancing Battlefield Labs as a public preview of future game updates late in development. Both the postponement of Season 1 and the use of Battlefield Labs will set the stage for our exciting new content throughout the season, including content for Season 2,” EA said.
Battlefield 6 Season 2 was originally planned to launch on January 20, bringing new maps and modes. Instead, players will now get the update as part of the Season 1 expansion.
On January 27, Battlefield 6 players will be able to unlock new weapon packs and soldier skins, as well as XP boosts, through the Frostfire reward path. There are additional free rewards associated with the rewards path, which can be completed concurrently with the Season 1 Battle Pass.
Following the launch of “Battlefield 6” on October 10, EA has launched a number of content updates in the first season. As part of two separate updates, the game received two new maps, new modes, weapons, and more.
The game also received a year-end Winter Offensive update in December, which added new map conditions.
Battlefield 6 is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
