EA has previewed what’s coming to Battlefield 6 Season 2 ahead of a major update. EA has announced that the military shooter’s second season will kick off with a new map called “Contamination” and a new limited-time mode that will expand the game’s narrative. Battlefield 6 Season 2 will launch on February 17th on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
In addition to Contamination and the aforementioned modes, EA will be adding a second “high-intensity” map and a separate limited-time mode to the game later this season, the company confirmed in a community update on Tuesday. EA will share full details on Season 2 content at a later date.
Starting February 17th, Battlefield 6 players will have access to a new multiplayer map called Contamination, as well as a limited-time mode. According to EA, the mode will expand the game’s narrative and add a tactical edge to the game’s battles against the Pax Armata militia.
Battlefield 6 Season 2 Improvements
In addition to new content, Battlefield 6 will also feature various improvements based on player feedback. In the latest community update, EA details updates to the progression system, Battle Pass, RedSec progression, weapon balancing, player movement, and more game features.
Battlefield 6’s slow progression and reward system have frustrated players since its launch. EA confirmed that it will be rolling out a number of improvements to better reward players for the time they invest in the game.
Challenges are being streamlined, placing less emphasis on mode-specific challenges. EA said it will monitor the challenge completion rate and make further adjustments accordingly.
EA said that the second season of the Battle Pass will progress faster and have more rewards. Battlefield RedSec progression has also been improved with increased XP rates in Battle Royale and Challenge Modes. Class rewards are being rebalanced to better support players who primarily play RedSec.
Season 2 will also bring more consistent weapon recoil compensation for better handling and balance. Player movements have also been enhanced and will be more predictable and readable during matches. Season 2 Roadmap, Program Updates
EA has confirmed that it will share details about Battlefield 6 Season 2 and a complete Season 2 roadmap later this week. The second season was originally scheduled to launch in January, but was delayed to allow more time to further refine and refine the new content.
The company also revealed that Battlefield 6 developers are further improving hit registration and netcode, ongoing recoil review, visibility, a ping system for map locations, and other audio improvements to footsteps.
EA is further testing and producing the planned Golmud Railway map, which will be added to Battlefield 6 next season. Further updates are planned for RedSec, including increasing armor availability and changing the availability of vehicle keycard rewards.
