Ava Announces 6-Man Ladder Match For Vacant WWE NXT Title

After Oba Femi’s title exit following the main event of “WWE NXT: New Year’s Evil,” General Manager Ava laid out the game plan to determine the new NXT Champion on Tuesday’s episode. On February 3, six men will compete for gold in a ladder match.

Ava kicked off the show in the ring with the men’s lineup surrounding the ring. She told them there’s no better time than now for newcomers, those who feel left out and others who feel like they’ve been struggling forever. As she talks, Ricky Saints’ music plays and he comes to the ring. He said he’s done running the Stand & Deliver main event now that Femi, Je’Von Evans and Trick Williams are on the main roster and he’s looking forward to becoming a two-time NXT Champion. He said he would shut up and let Ava give him the title.

The general manager said the Saints deserved the title but no more than anyone else in the ring who went to her office and said the same thing. It was then that she announced the ladder match for NXT on February 3. She also revealed that qualifying for the championship will begin next week.

After Ava left the ring, the NXT roster began to brawl. However, former “WWE EVOLVE” talent and one of the newest “NXT” signees, Keanu Carver, came out from behind and delivered a devastating blow to everyone. At the end of the opening sequence, he was the last man standing.
