Auburn football among top flip candidates for EDGE Cam Pritchett

The next recruiting cycle has begun, and Auburn football is working hard to recruit one of the top EDGE rushers in the state.

Cam Pritchett, a 2027 EDGE commit from Thompson High School in Alabaster, announced his commitment to Oregon State this summer, but many programs are hoping to change his mind before signing day next December. In a recent interview with Opponent , Pritchett said his commitment to Oregon State remains strong despite the departure of defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi to California.

“Oregon is still in good shape,” Pritchett said in an interview with Opponent. “Coach Tosh Lupoi is leaving for Cal, but I have full trust in Coach Dan Lanning, so my commitment remains strong. They play great football, I talk to Coach Kamran Alaj every week, and I’m still happy with my decision.”

Auburn joins LSU, Tennessee and Florida State in committing to flip Pritchett. Pritchett told Opponent that he thinks the job done by newly hired head coach Alex Golesh has been a “good change” for the program, and he plans to take an official visit to the Plains before signing day next December.

Pritchett is Alabama’s No. 8 prospect in the 2027 class and the No. 26 defensive lineman in the class. Auburn has had a lot of success recently recruiting out of Thompson High, as players like Caleb Harris, Anquan Feggans and Jared Smith have all contributed to Auburn’s defense over the past few seasons.
