The No. 9 Auburn Tigers will face their biggest test of the new season on Saturday when they face No. 14 Florida State on day two of the Amgee College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.
Auburn (4-1) used a late-game offensive surge and dominant pitching to beat Kansas State 5-1 on Friday night. Auburn doubled its 2-0 lead in the 8th on Eric Guevara’s RBI single and Lucas Steele’s sacrifice fly to extend the lead to 4-0. Bristol Carter added insurance in the top of the ninth with a grounder to score Ethin Bingaman. The five-run output complemented a solid start on the mound from Jake Marciano, who struck out eight batters and allowed just two hits over six complete innings.

Florida State (4-0) opened its trip to Arlington with a 6-1 victory over Michigan on Friday. Gabe Frazier and Jace Estes each had three hits in the game, and Brayden Dowd joined Estes in an RBI double. Wes Mendez struck out seven batters in 5 1/3 innings on the mound.
