At least 5 different clubs interested in bargain deal for Juventus’s McKennie

Weston McKennie’s contract expires at the end of the 2025-26 season and as it stands, at least five different clubs have expressed interest in signing the USMNT star either on a cheap deal or on a free transfer in June.

European clubs lined up for Juventus’ McKennie

McKennie joined Juventus on a first-time loan deal in 2020, which became a permanent contract in 2021. He signed a four-year contract at the time, which was later extended by a further 12 months in 2024, meaning his current contract expires in June this year.

The versatile American has played in almost every position on the pitch during his career and has featured in 19 of Juve’s 20 Serie A games so far this season and has now started 13 consecutive league games. He has also started every Serie A game since Luciano Spalletti was appointed head coach in October.

Despite his importance to Spalletti, no agreement has yet been reached on a contract extension for the 26-year-old United States international.

As a result, teams across Europe have begun lining up ahead of potential free transfers in June.

According to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, two unspecified Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in signing McKennie. Atletico Madrid have also reportedly expressed interest.

It’s a matter of major interest in Serie A, with Besiktas’ chances of striking a deal for McKennie reportedly described as “non-existent at the moment”.

Juventus will reportedly seek a fee of more than €10 million if they were to sell McKennie in January, with less than six months left on his contract.
