Asus ROG Xbox Ally X Launched in India Alongside ROG Xbox Ally: Price, Features

Asus launched the new ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X in India on Tuesday. Developed in partnership with Asus, these portable gaming computers are the company’s first Xbox-branded handheld devices designed specifically for mobile gaming. The ROG Ally X is the higher-end model in the series, powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chipset. Both models are equipped with a 7-inch LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, and use the same new grip design as the Xbox wireless controller.

ROG Xbox Ally is priced in India at Rs. The ROG Xbox Ally X is priced at Rs 69,990, while the ROG Xbox Ally X is priced at Rs 69,990. 1,14,990. Both models will be available for pre-order starting today and come in black and white colours. These handheld gaming PCs will go on sale on October 16th.

ROG Xbox Ally, ROG Xbox Ally X features

ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X feature 7-inch Full HD LCD screens with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of up to 500 nits. The panels support AMD FreeSync Premium technology, which is said to reduce screen tearing. There’s also Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection on top and DXC anti-reflective coating, which, as the name suggests, reduces reflections.

Design-wise, both ROG Xbox Ally models are identical to their standard Asus-branded counterparts. One notable difference is the presence of new contoured grips, which the company claims can help accommodate a variety of hand sizes. Xbox ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X feature traditional ABXY buttons derived from the Xbox Wireless Controller. There’s also an Xbox button for quick access to apps, chat, and settings via an enhanced Game Bar overlay.

Although the button configuration is similar, the standard model has a Hall effect trigger. ROG Xbox Ally X has been upgraded with pulse triggers.

According to Asus, the standard ROG Xbox Ally is powered by an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor, paired with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB built-in storage. Meanwhile, the ROG Xbox Ally X is powered by AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme SoC, paired with 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and 1TB storage.

The company says both handheld gaming computers offer a full-screen Xbox look and are designed for handheld gaming. It makes changes to Windows 11 on ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X that minimize background activity and postpone non-essential tasks for the best gaming experience. Asus says this frees up system resources dedicated to gameplay, resulting in higher frame rates and better performance.

As part of a partnership between ASUS and Microsoft, the new ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X feature an upgraded Game Bar and integration with ASUS’ Armory Crate. This is said to provide quick access to advanced device options and input controls. It also allows players to access an aggregated library of games from different storefronts such as Xbox, Battle.net, Steam, and more.

The ROG Xbox Ally comes with a 60Wh battery, while the ROG Xbox Ally X comes with an 80Wh battery. Both handheld gaming computers come with a charging stand that supports 67W fast charging.
