The Asus ROG Ally X is expected to be released in the coming weeks, and the handheld gaming console’s specifications have been leaked online ahead of launch. It will serve as an updated version of the first-generation ROG Ally rather than a successor, and details of the phone suggest that the ROG Ally X is coming with some highly anticipated hardware improvements. These include improved battery and more, higher-bandwidth memory, which should improve the performance of the device.

VideoCardz reports that the Asus ROG Ally X will come with a larger 80Whr battery, which should allow users to play games for longer – the original device came with a 40Whr battery, and users complained about the original console’s shorter battery life.
Another area of ​​improvement when the ROG Ally X arrives is the memory department – the company has equipped the ROG Ally with 16GB of RAM, while the ROG Ally will come with 24GB of LPDDR5 memory. It will also offer higher memory bandwidth — 7,500MHz, up from the current model’s 6,400MHz.
The ROG Ally X will reportedly feature the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Ultimate APU as the first-generation ROG Ally. Likewise, the 7-inch Full HD screen with 120Hz refresh rate will also be retained on the upcoming device.
Asus has also replaced the first-generation ROG Ally’s fans with ones that are 23% smaller and have 50% thinner fins than their predecessors, resulting in a 10% improvement in airflow on the upcoming ROG Ally X.
The ROG Ally X has also increased in size and weight due to its larger battery. The device is reportedly 36.9mm thick, which means it will be 4.5mm thicker than the original model. It reportedly weighs 678 grams, which is 70 grams heavier than the ROG Ally.
