Arrest after two teenagers die in car crash with tree

Two teenage men are dead after a car crashed into a tree, police said.

Surrey Police said officers were called shortly before 22:00 GMT on Saturday to reports of a serious crash involving a white Tesla near the junction of Holland Road and Popes Lane in the Hurst Green area of ​​Oakstead.

A 30-year-old man from Oxted was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing death and dangerous driving causing serious injury.

Police said one teen died at the scene and the second later died in hospital. A third teenage male remains in hospital with “life-threatening injuries.”

Surrey Police said the Tesla driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The intersection with Popes Lane between Holland Road and its junction with Warren Lane was closed as police investigated on Sunday.

Police are urging witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage to contact us.
