The statement went on to say that Hartwick is “cooperating with authorities” and that no additional information will be released “out of respect for the process and the individuals involved.”

ASP officials confirmed the agency is investigating “allegations made against North Little Rock Mayor Terry Hartwick” in a complaint received Tuesday afternoon.

ASP officials confirmed that the case has been assigned to the ASP Special Investigations Unit.

North Little Rock police said in a statement in the afternoon that the department “received a report of an interaction between Mayor Terry Hartwick and an individual at a public event.”

“Because this incident involves the mayor of North Little Rock, and to ensure a completely independent investigation, the North Little Rock Police Department has asked Arkansas State Police to investigate this incident,” the NLRPD said.

Neither ASP nor North Little Rock officials would reveal what the investigation is.
