Tommy Lloyd’s Arizona Wildcats continue their undefeated non-conference record with Abilene Christian’s 96-62 record. The top-ranked Wildcats improved to 10-0 for just the second time under Lloyd. Arizona has scored more than 93 points in seven games this season, and the safety is averaging 95 points per game at the McKale Center.
Arizona’s two main stars, Koa Peat and Jaden Bradley, scored just 20 points on seven field goal attempts. Bradley scored all ten points without taking a field goal, becoming the first Arizona player to accomplish the feat in at least three decades.

Brayden Burris is on fire
It took Arizona freshman Brayden Burries some time to find his feet, but it appears he’s not past that stage of development just yet. Averaging nearly 20 points per game over the past five games while limiting turnovers and continuing to improve defensively. Burris’ fan base is buzzing and for good reason.
Burris’s shooting efficiency will only get better as the season goes on. Over the past five games, the freshman has seen positive improvements in his field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage and effective field goal percentage.
The combo guard is also very adept in transition, currently ranking in the 99th percentile in fast break points per 40 points.

Winning games while Burris adjusts to the college game is a luxury for Arizona because he can now start having fun on his own. Arizona’s youth continue to develop as they remain undefeated.
Sidi stands out
Bench member and program player Sidi Gueye showed off a high level of athleticism, transition and rim protection in this game, his breakout moment of the season.
Gay scored four points, but more importantly, had three blocks and a steal in just nine minutes of play. As Gueye continues to improve, he appears to be on track to get more playing time.

Arizona Returns North
Arizona’s next game will be against the visiting San Diego State Aztecs at the Mortgage Game Center. SDSU had a disappointing start to the season, losing to Troy in double overtime, being eliminated by Michigan, and losing to Baylor.

SDSU lacks real size outside of star center Magoon Gwath. The Cats should be able to once again take advantage of their size and skill set at the frontcourt positions in this game.
This upcoming game will take place on ESPN2 on Saturday, December 20 at 8:30pm MST. For more information on this game and upcoming Arizona State Athletics events, listen to the Arizona Wildcats Podcast hosted by Damon Fairroll and Kevin Thomas.
