Arizona Cardinals retaining OLB coach Matt Feeney in 2026

The Arizona Cardinals are retaining another defensive assistant. They will retain Matt Feeney, who was the team’s outside linebackers coach last year, according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Feeney was hired last year to replace Rob Rodriguez. Josh Sweat is having a great year, recording a career-high 12 sacks in his first season with the Cardinals.

Prior to being hired by the Cardinals, he spent three seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, including two seasons as defensive quality control coach and one season as assistant defensive backs coach. Prior to that, he was the college defensive coordinator at the University of Akron.

He joins linebackers coach Christian Garcia as a defensive assistant and Nick Rallis, who was hired as defensive coordinator by new head coach Mike LaFleur.
