Arizona Cardinals make roster moves in Week 16

The Arizona Cardinals made a series of roster moves on Tuesday, ending the seasons of two players. They placed running back Bam Knight and receiver Andre Baccellia on injured reserve. Both were injured in the Cardinals’ 40-20 loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday. Now their season is over.

Knight suffered an ankle injury, while Basella’s injury was to his neck.

Knight, Baccellia to IR

As previously stated, the Cardinals placed Knight and Basella on injured reserve. With just three games left in the season, neither is eligible to return.

Knight finished the season playing in 12 games, starting eight. He rushed for 269 yards, 3.3 yards per carry, four touchdowns, and caught 22 passes for 160 yards and one score.

Barceglia appeared in five games, making two starts, and had two catches for eight yards. He also averaged 26.2 yards on nine kickoff returns.

Wide receiver Jalen Brooks promoted

The Cardinals made a move to fill both vacancies, signing receiver Jalen Brooks from the practice squad. Brooks was on the practice squad starting in Week 8 and was elevated over the final two games. He had three catches for 51 yards and averaged 24.8 yards on eight kick returns. He has already failed once.

Practice team moves

The Cardinals removed offensive lineman Trey Wedig from the practice squad. They brought safety Patrick McMorris back to the practice squad and signed offensive lineman Max Cox.
