Arc Raiders, the hit extraction shooter from Embark Studios, is said to have sold over 12 million copies. The game also reportedly hit its highest number of daily active users over the weekend, with 3.2 million cross-platform players. Arc Raiders has been performing strongly in the more than two months since its launch, maintaining high concurrent player counts on Steam.
Sales data comes from market analysis company Alinea Analytics. It is estimated that sales of “Arc Raiders” exceeded 12 million copies on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X over the weekend. The company claimed that Sunday, January 4, was the game’s highest number of daily active users since launch, with 3.2 million daily active users across PC, PlayStation and Xbox, setting a new record for the game.

Alinea estimates that Arc Raiders has generated over $350 million (roughly Rs. 3,156 crore) across all platforms since its launch on October 30. The game’s sales got a boost during the holiday season, with a “timely” 20% discount on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox storefronts. Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics on X.
Steam sales dominate
PC seems to be the dominant platform for Arc Raiders. The company estimates that 53.5% of copies sold so far in January are on Steam, followed by 25.5% on PS5 and 21% on Xbox Series S/X.
Back in November, Alinea estimated that Arc Raiders sold 2.5 million copies in its first week of release, with approximately 1.7 million copies sold on Steam, accounting for more than 69% of total sales reported at the time.
Embark Studios has yet to officially share sales figures for Arc Raiders. However, on November 10, the studio did confirm that Extraction Shooter’s cross-platform concurrent player count had exceeded 700,000.
“The many different ways you can play and engage in ARC Raiders completely blew us away, far beyond anything we could have imagined,” the developers said in an update thanking players.

Arc Raiders retains Steam players
Arc Raiders launched on October 30 and quickly became a hit on Steam, reaching 300,000 concurrent players within days of its release. According to SteamDB data, the game currently has the highest number of concurrent players on the platform at 481,966.
Perhaps even more impressive is Arc Raiders’ ability to retain its player base. Its player count on Steam has remained stable since its launch more than two months ago. This weekend, the game’s number of concurrent Steam players exceeded 400,000. According to SteamDB charts, the peak number of concurrent players in the past 24 hours was 366,631. As of this writing, over 200,000 players are playing the game on Steam.
The game’s player retention on PC stands in stark contrast to Battlefield 6, another popular multiplayer shooter. While the game has been very successful for EA, with Alinea estimating that the military shooter has sold over 20 million copies across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, its player count on Steam has continued to dwindle over time.
“Battlefield 6” has a maximum number of concurrent players on Steam of 747,440, but its average number of concurrent players currently fluctuates around 100,000. According to SteamDB, the game’s peak number of concurrent players in the past 24 hours was just over 94,000.
Arc Raiders is a PvPvE extraction shooter that pits players solo or in squads of up to three against deadly Arc bots and online players. The game is set on a post-apocalyptic Earth dominated by robots, and focuses on looting valuable resources and crafting items, then safely evacuating to a hub world where players can craft upgrades, sell loot, buy weapons, and accept quests. Arc Raiders is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
