CAMDEN, N.J. — The Philadelphia 76ers are having a miserable season in 2024-25, with injuries destroying their chances of winning. After adding Paul George, Andre Drummond and many other proven veterans around the league, their vision is to succeed.
Instead, injuries ruined all their chances, and they started 3-14 and never recovered.

As the Sixers enter the 2025-26 season, they are focused on getting younger and adding more depth in order to survive an 82-game season. Although injuries hit the 76ers again, they handled it better. Their current record is 16 wins and 11 losses, and their record at this stage of the 2024-25 season is 10 wins and 17 losses.
“I think we’ve done a really good job this year of staying together despite the injuries,” Drummond explained. “I think it’s easy to detach when things get bad and things just kind of plummet a little bit. It’s easy to detach and kind of go into your own shell and I think this year for us, despite the injuries, we’ve still managed to maintain that connection and cohesiveness with whoever’s on the field.”
The Sixers are definitely a closer team on the court and in the locker room. They developed a chemistry from playing video games and getting to know each other off the court, which served them well.
“The chemistry is starting to show in and out of the game,” Drummond added. “It doesn’t matter who’s playing, who’s in the rotation. That’s all we can ask for. It’s just chemistry and the rest will take care of itself.”

Drummond is limited to 40 games in the 2024-25 season due to a toe injury, but he has been able to learn from his teammates off the court. That will serve him well when it comes to on-court chemistry, as he looks like he’ll be a positive contributor to this team.
“I think from last year to now, I think I’ve learned a lot more about my teammates,” he added. “I know their tendencies. I know what they’re going to do more often than I don’t. More than they think I know. It’s easier to be on the field knowing where I need to be and what type of play I need to bring every night.”
The Sixers will count on everyone on the roster to get the job done going forward.
