The Buffalo Bills didn’t have a lot of roster weaknesses heading into free agency, and general manager Brandon Beane immediately filled those questionable spots early and early.

One is a receiver, signed by DJ Moore, and the other is on EDGE, signed by Bradley Chubb.

Both came to Buffalo with high salaries, and if the two perform poorly in 2026, the transfer finger will be directed at Beane.

But they were made with one clear intention: to win the Super Bowl.

For Gilberto Manzano of Sports Illustrated, he thinks the Bills are in a good spot roster-wise given the additions of Moore and Chubb, who gave the team an A-grade on their free-agent moves.

“Buffalo has been criticized for the amount of guaranteed money it committed to Moore and Chubb,” Manzano wrote. “But if Moore can make clutch plays for Allen all season long, like he did for Caleb Williams last season in Chicago, then a trade for Moore won’t be an issue. If the Bills draft a top edge rusher and give themselves a strong rotation at the position, the Chubb signing might look even better.

Is Beal a real contender on the free agent market?

You could argue that if there are no new signings and Buffalo returns with the same roster, this will be a moot point.

We’re looking at where the Bills will be in 2026, and if both Moore and Chubb perform at the level many expect, there’s no reason to think this team won’t be in the deep end of the playoffs again.

Of course, a lot has to happen for that to happen, and Joe Brady could have another 11+ win season in his first year as head coach, plus some luck with injuries.

Still, as things stand, the Bills are one of the few teams that can say they’re legitimate contenders.
