AFCON 2025 final: DR Congo backs referee Jean-Jacques Ndala

Two days after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, the Democratic Republic of Congo, through its football federation, has expressed support for Jean-Jacques Ndala, the referee of the match between Senegal and Morocco.

The Congolese Football Federation (FECOFA) on Tuesday sent a message of encouragement and recognition to the trio of Congolese referees who will referee the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Football Association praised their rigorous game management, composure under pressure, superb skills and high standards of refereeing ethics.

FECOFA warmly congratulates the trio for winning ‘Salutes Congolese referees and proudly defends colours’ Democratic Republic of the Congo. “You have represented our country with distinction in various international competitions and you have been asked to referee.” A statement signed by Belinda Rentadilla Nzuzi, Chairperson of the Normalization Committee, was read out.

FECOFA urges these three referees “Continue on this path of excellence” and arrive “Continue to represent the Democratic Republic of the Congo with distinction” in the upcoming games.
