Poised Jones should be starting

Liverpool are unlikely to consider selling Curtis Jones in the summer.

The Liverpool player, who is likely to serve as vice-captain following the departure of Andy Robertson, impressed in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.

What I love about Jones is his love for football. He rarely gives up possession and is extremely composed when doing so. His pass to Robertson was also beautiful, making the score 2-0.

If I have any criticism of the 25-year-old, it’s that he’s not aggressive enough in forward passing, but this assist suggests he may be improving in that area.

Jones has been better than Alexis McAllister and Ryan Gravenburch this season, although Arne Slott hasn’t used him as much as the other two.

Jones and Dom Szoboszlai should be the starters, and the other two should be fighting for the third spot.

Thomas Tuchel should also consider Jones for his England squad. He is perfectly suited to the slow pace of international football. With the temperatures high this summer in North America, England need players who can retain possession.

Jones’ current contract expires in 2027 and there are rumors he will leave Anfield to ensure normal football. So do you think Liverpool should sell him?
