KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Maikel Garcia drove home on a wild run at the end of the game as the Kansas City Royals beat the Baltimore Orioles 6-5 on Tuesday night, ending an eight-game losing streak.
Garcia and Bobby Witt Jr. tied the game in the ninth before Vinnie Pasquantino struck out and the runners advanced to second and third on a wild pitch from Ryan Helsley (0-2).

Helsley started his second wild pitch when Salvador Perez batted, catcher Adley Rutschman deflected a slider in the dirt and Garcia swooped in for the winning run.
Lucas Elsager (1-1) walked in the ninth inning to give Kansas City its first relief win since April 7.
The Royals’ relievers have suffered six losses during the losing streak while allowing six home runs and a 7.71 ERA.
The Orioles took a 5-4 lead in the top of the eighth inning after Rutschman hit his first home run of the year, and Michael Massey hit his first homer in the bottom of the inning, ending reliever Rico Garcia’s 11-inning hitless streak.

Rutschman, who missed ten games with left ankle inflammation, had two hits after returning from the injured list.
In the second inning, Kobe Mayo hit a 439-foot home run near the left field foul pole to give the Orioles a 3-0 lead.
Kyle Isbel had two doubles on three hits to end a 13-game hitless streak, and the Royals hit three sacrifice flies to take a 4-3 lead into the eighth inning.
Kris Bubic allowed three runs on five hits, walked three and struck out three in six innings.
In 6 1/3 innings, Shane Baz allowed four runs on eight hits, struck out four and walked two.
Pete Alonso had two of Baltimore’s eight hits.

The Orioles lost six of eight games.
