KKR vs SRH: Run-out chaos! Cameron Green falls prey to bizarre mix-up – Watch

Cameron Green’s IPL 2026 season got off to a poor start with a bizarre loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad in Match 6 of IPL 2026 in Kolkata.

KKR won the coin toss and invited SRH to bat. Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a strong record of 226/8 in 20 overs, helped by key contributions from the upper and middle order. Travis Head (46) and Abhishek Sharma (48) opened the innings with a blistering 82 while Heinrich Klaasen anchored the innings with a fluent 52. Nitish Kumar Reddy added late momentum with 39 runs as SRH crossed the 220-run mark despite a few quick wickets in the middle.

For KKR, Blessing Muzarabani performed well and took crucial wickets by scoring 4/41, while Vaibhav Arora (2/47), Kartik Tyagi (1/48) and Anukul Roy (1/16) also provided support.

KKR got off to a stunning start in the Powerplay with Finn Allen smashing Payne for 24 in the opening over before falling quickly for 28. The runs continued as Abhishek Sharma scored 15 runs, helping KKR reach 50 in just 3.2 overs. Jaydev Unadkat conceded a few boundaries but fought back by dismissing Rahane, while a mix-up in the middle led to the odd run-out from Cameron Green, adding to the early drama.

Weird exit at the end of Powerplay

This is a classic example of why you never get rid of turnovers. Raghuvansh passed the ball directly back to Malinga, who caught the kick and stopped it. Both batsmen hesitated and ended up stranded in the middle overs. Malinga recovered quickly, picked up the ball and calmly broke the stumps at the bowler’s end.
