The Texas Department of State Health Services is warning consumers not to eat certain Great Value brand frozen dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets because they may contain high levels of lead.
The affected products are sold in 29-ounce bags with a best-by date of February 10, 2027, and are distributed through Walmart stores nationwide. The warning comes after the U.S. Department of Agriculture issued a public health alert on Wednesday.
According to the alert, routine public health sampling detected potentially harmful levels of lead in the product. Officials stress that there is no safe level of lead in food. Exposure poses the greatest risk to children under six years of age and women who are or may become pregnant.

The affected packages have been removed from store shelves, but officials warn consumers may still have them at home. Anyone in possession of this product should not eat it and should throw it away or return it to the place of purchase.
According to the USDA, the affected packages are marked with a best-before date of “February 10, 2027,” lot number “0416DPO1215” and establishment number “P44164.”
Health officials encourage consumers to stay informed about food safety alerts and recalls through state and federal resources.
