Nizaar Kinsella’s article on Liam Rosenior on the BBC raises some interesting thoughts on whether the manager is under pressure after just a few months on the job.

“There is nothing within Chelsea to suggest that Ronnie Orr, who joined from partner Strasbourg in January to replace Enzo Maresca, is in danger of losing his job, either now or at the end of the season,” Kinsella wrote, a line that will dismay some fans who have given up on the manager.

“It is understood he replaced Maresca mid-season, who left after a dispute with senior management and the club had hoped to keep the Italian until at least the summer.”

Ronnie Orr still holding transfer meetings with sporting directors

Kinsella’s best evidence of Ronnie Orr’s job security was his “active participation in regular transfer planning meetings”.

We’re not sure how much inventory we’re going to put into it. Once he’s under pressure, they don’t stop meeting him. Presumably they will continue to have him attend planning meetings until the moment he is actually fired.

In other news…

Regardless of those excuses, Ronnie Orr is struggling right now, and his perspective on training time is now backfiring on him.
