The Los Angeles Lakers lost to Rip City Remix on Tuesday, their first game in more than a month. They got back in the winning column with a 111-98 win over the Grand Rapids Gold on Friday and face Grand Rapids again on Saturday at the UCLA Health Training Center.
Grand Rapids led 28-19 late in the first quarter, but the Lakers scored 40 points in the second quarter to take a 63-60 lead into halftime. In the last quarter, they began to widen the gap and defeated the gold medal team 119-111.

South Bay once again got the job done defensively, holding King to 42.1% from the field and 28.2% from 3-point range, and that defense allowed King to lead 22-9 in fast break points. RJ Davis scored a team-high 22 points on 8-of-10 shooting, center Malik Williams had 19 points and 15 rebounds, and Arthur Kaluma came off the bench to score 18 points.
Rookie forward Adu Tierro made 5 of 11 shots, including a three-pointer, and ended up with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Kobe Bufkin made 3 of 11 shots and scored 12 points.
