LeBron sealed the victory for the Lakers in Wednesday’s game between the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Lakers. His performance was very good, making 13 of 14 shots and scoring 30 points efficiently. Durant, on the other hand, struggled and was essentially shut down in the fourth quarter.

Durant thinks James can stay in the league until his 40s

James and Durant have had many heated exchanges over the years. Wednesday is another chapter in their story, but it also introduces some new characters. LeBron was outstanding for the Lakers, and Luka Doncic was the replacement for Los Angeles, finishing with 40 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists.

On the other hand, the Rockets have Amen Thompson and Alperen Sengun to fill Durant’s shoes. Unfortunately for Durant, LeBron had a huge night as he teamed up with his young partner to propel the Lakers to victory.

After the game, Durant celebrated his friendly rival for the longest time. He talked about his opponent’s impressive longevity and how he can stay in the league for as long as he wants. Of course, 41 is an old age for any top athlete, but Durant believes James can go much longer.

“I think he can play until he’s 45. I don’t think he’s going to live that long, but honestly, I think he can play another four or five years. It’s not a surprise anymore,” Durant said after the Rockets lost to the Lakers for the second time in as many nights.

“He’s 41 years old, but he looks great on the field. When you love the game as much as he does, you do whatever it takes to stay focused and stay on top of the game. He’s very inspiring as a person.”

Going forward, LeBron will continue to be one of the best players on the Lakers roster. Of course, Doncic and Austin Reeves are ready to take over for the younger players, but there’s always a chance that James can be a significant contributor due to his skill set and talent.
