On Tuesday, Musk cited a user’s post on the social media platform X that said one of the original Tesla Roadster vehicles is currently orbiting Mars. “It’s true. The new Roadster will probably be launched in late April,” he said in the post.

Tesla Roadster
Tesla recently filed multiple trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The filing describes a stylized format for the wordmark “Roadster,” as well as a “triangular design composed of three flowing curves.”
Musk also detailed that the Roadster will be a performance-focused vehicle. “If safety is your number one goal, don’t buy a Roadster,” Musk said, promising a “cool” demo of the car.
Roadster’s hover patent, Cybercab receive NHTSA support
Interestingly, Tesla has filed for a patent detailing an active aerodynamic system that directs airflow through a series of fans to create downforce. The document also mentions that the system may allow the car to hover.
Elsewhere, Musk’s $30,000 Cybercab could also get a major boost, as NHTSA has proposed revisions to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) that would eliminate the need for a gear indicator.
