The Cleveland Browns continue to make moves in NFL free agency but have made no moves at the three positions that fans and media consider to be the biggest needs: quarterback, left tackle and wide receiver. Browns added safety early Wednesday Daniel Thomas. Thomas played most of his snaps on special teams, but he played 111 snaps on defense for the Detroit Lions last season.

On Wednesday night, news broke that the Browns would be adding another linebacker, DE AJ Epenesa:
Epenesa was a second-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in the 2020 NFL Draft. In six seasons, the Iowa product has 24 sacks, including three straight seasons with six sacks, or 6.5 sacks. Last year, Epenesa’s snaps dropped by nearly 200 to 438, resulting in just 2.5 sacks and 32 tackles for loss.
Pro Football Focus gave Cleveland’s newest linebacker an overall grade of 58.8, with his best grade coming in the pass rush (63.5). His best season was in 2023, with a grade of 80.3, including an 85.2 grade that eluded passers.
Matt Warren, SB Nation’s NFL Community Director and Buffalo Rumblings contributor, had the following to say about Epenesa’s signing:
Made a big offensive play for the Bills. Seems cheap to me.

Are you excited about the newest addition to the Browns? Do you think general manager Andrew Berry should continue to add to the defense? If so, what positions are there?
