GTA 6 New Trailer ‘Biggest Video Launch of All Time’ With 475 Million Views, Says Rockstar

The second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 broke viewing records across social media platforms. Developer Rockstar Games is said to be claiming that GTA 6 Trailer 2 is the “biggest video release ever,” ahead of trailers for hit movies like Deadpool vs. Wolverine and Fantastic Four. The latest trailer has been viewed a whopping 475 million times across different social media platforms, the studio said. On YouTube, the trailer has been viewed more than 85 million times in just two days.

The studio revealed the trailer’s total viewership to The Hollywood Reporter, claiming it has been viewed more than 475 million times across platforms. Rockstar is calling it its “largest video launch ever,” surpassing last year’s Deadpool vs. Wolverine trailer.

According to THR , the Marvel superhero movie is the most viewed trailer of all time, with 365 million views in its first 24 hours. According to reports, the second trailer of “GTA 6” also surpassed the trailer of “Fantastic Four: The First Step”, with more than 200 million views on the first day.

As of this writing, the second trailer for GTA 6 has been viewed over 85 million times on YouTube. The cumulative figure of 475 million includes views from other platforms such as X and Instagram.

In comparison, the first trailer for GTA 6 also broke records, becoming the largest launch trailer on YouTube outside of a music video. The first trailer racked up 93 million views in the same time frame, but it’s a YouTube exclusive, THR reports. The first “GTA 6” trailer has now been viewed more than 255 million times on the platform.

THR also pointed out that the song “Hot Together” performed by The Pointer Sisters in the second trailer of “GTA 6” became an instant hit on Spotify, with the platform’s streaming volume increasing by 182,000%. The song “Love Is a Long Road” performed by Tom Petty in the first trailer also became a streaming hit after the trailer debuted on YouTube in December 2023.

Rockstar surprised fans by releasing the second trailer for GTA 6 on May 6 without any prior announcement. The nearly three-minute-long trailer finally introduces us to Jason, the game’s secondary protagonist, and gives us a glimpse into Jason and Lucia’s relationship.

Rockstar says the second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 was shot on PS5, confirming that it mixes gameplay and cutscenes “equally”. The open-world game was originally slated to launch in the fall of 2025, but has been delayed to May 26, 2026, when it will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.
