As March Madness continues to spread across the sports world, the SEC Tournament has reached the quarterfinals.
In the latest bracket update from USA TODAY Sports, the latest results from the tournament have had some impact on the situation for some of the lower-seeded conference teams, while the Florida Gators remain the top school in the conference.

“Auburn had a chance to punch an NCAA ticket by beating Tennessee, but couldn’t stop freshman Nate Ament, who returned from injury after missing two weeks and scored 27 points in the Volunteers’ 72-62 victory,” the author said. “Missouri lost to Kentucky 78-72 and is now on the wrong side of the bubble.”
Friday’s quarterfinals include Florida State taking on Kentucky at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The third game between the two SEC rivals is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.
Top seeds in USA TODAY Sports’ 2026 rankings
There are no changes among the top seeds, with Florida State remaining the top seed in the South, while the Duke Blue Devils are the top seed in the East, the Michigan Wolverines remain atop the Midwest, and the Arizona Wildcats continue to dominate the West.

The Southeastern Conference maintained its 10-school count in this update and now leads the Big Ten with one team as the most represented team in the rankings. The ACC and Big 12 both have eight teams, while the Big East and WCC each have three, and the Atlantic 10 and MAC both have a pair, making up leagues with more than one team.
Florida State is ranked first in the South Region, followed by the fourth-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide in the South Region, while the Vanderbilt Commodores (East), Tennessee Volunteers (West) and Arkansas Razorbacks (Midwest) retain their status as the fifth seeds in their respective regions.
The remaining teams include the Kentucky Wildcats (No. 7 in the West), Georgia Bulldogs (No. 9 in the Midwest), Texas A&M Aggies (No. 10 in the Midwest), Missouri Tigers (No. 10 in the East) and Texas Longhorns (No. 11 in the West). The Auburn Tigers remain in the top four.
