Wichita woman ID’d as victim of New Mexico plane crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — New Mexico authorities on Saturday identified the victims of a small plane crash in Wichita.

Deborah Rhinesmith, 63, of Wichita, died Friday in a crash at an Albuquerque golf course, according to the New Mexico Department of Public Safety.

Single engine Cessna 400 registered in Wichita. The plane took off from Eisenhower National Airport around 9:20 a.m. and crashed while trying to make an emergency landing around 11:45 a.m., officials said.

There were two people on the plane and both were taken to the hospital, according to New Mexico State Police. Rhinesmith later died from his injuries. Another person was in critical condition as of Friday.
