Chelsea boss Liam Roniol says he will not swap Joao Pedro for Erling Haaland or any other of the world’s top strikers given his recent performances.
The Brazilian striker is currently in excellent form, scoring 10 goals in his past 11 games in all competitions, including a hat-trick against Aston Villa in midweek, ending a three-match winless run.

This brings his goal tally this season to 17, making him the Blues’ top scorer in the 2025/26 season. He is expected to become the club’s first striker to score 20 goals since Diego Costa in 2017.
Ronnie Orr won’t trade Chelsea star Pedro for Haaland, Kane or Mbappe
Ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Wrexham, Ronnie Orr was asked whether he would swap Pedro for Harry Kane, Erling Haaland or Kylian Mbappe, who are currently Europe’s top three goalscorers. His answer was decisive.
“I think Joao falls into that category now,” he said. “He’s been performing at this level in the two months I’ve been here. He’s a world-class striker.

“It’s disrespectful to compare Erling to him. I don’t know him that well but I do know from the outside that he’s a fantastic, world-class striker, but at the moment I wouldn’t trade Joao for anyone. He shows all the attributes I would like to see in my number nine.”
Chelsea’s fifth round tie with Wrexham kicks off at the Racecourse at 5.45pm this Saturday. The west London side have not won the FA Cup since 2018.
