MADRID (AP) — Spain’s Celta Vigo soccer team is desperately searching for Madonna as they search for a 36-year-old soccer shirt the pop star wore during a 1990 concert at her Valledos stadium.
In July 1990, Madonna appeared on stage during the Blonde Ambition tour wearing a club blue outfit.

She delighted locals who claimed the material girl as one of their own and brought unexpected attention to defender Jose Manuel Espinosa, who wears Espinosa’s No. 5 jersey.
However, the whereabouts of the precious piece of clothing remained unknown and after decades of fruitless searches, Celta asked Madonna, 67, for help in locating the piece for the club’s archives.
Celta president Marian Mourinho Trazo wrote in an open letter to the American icon: “While our jersey is not the only football shirt you wear on stage, this iconic image has become something else over time.”
“Over time, we have better understood where you stand at the time: questioning established norms and standing up to those who try to tell you what you can or cannot do. At our club, we recognize ourselves in this vein. That’s why we persist in wanting to find the clothes you once wore.

“Do you have it? If you know where it is, or you’d like to work with us to find it, please contact us via private message.”
The call caused an uproar on social media after it was posted on Wednesday, with the club doubling down on their efforts ahead of Friday’s 2-1 home defeat to Real Madrid, playing a Madonna song before kick-off and placing her photos on the pitch and on social media.
Mourinho Terrazo told local media he hoped the pop star would be affected.
“I think the letter has reached Madonna and she will reply,” he said.
Madonna burst onto the scene in 1983 with the hit “Holiday” and went on to have a string of top ten hits, including “Like a Virgin,” “Papa Don’t Preach” and “Ray of Light.”
She remains one of the most successful recording artists in history.
