Clemson baseball has another pitcher out with a season ending-injury

Clemson’s pitching staff has taken another hit before the season officially begins.

Freshman left-hander Dan Margolis will miss the entire 2025 season after undergoing elbow surgery, according to a report from Friend the Clemson Insider. Margolis is the second Clemson pitcher to be ruled out this year, joining left-hander Jacob McGovern, who also will miss the season.

Margolis dealt with Tommy John surgery early in his career. This time, the freshman underwent internal brace surgery to repair elbow damage. While the recovery time is typically shorter than traditional Tommy John surgery, it will still keep him off the mound for the entire season.

Margolis suffered the injury after a fall during his first few months in the program. His performance makes him a potential option for the Clemson bullpen heading into the 2025 season, giving the Tigers another lefty to turn to during the year.
