Wright State blows out Cleveland State, advances to Horizon League semifinals

In the first round of the 2026 Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament, the Wright State University men’s basketball team defeated Cleveland State University in the second half.

Kellen Pickett led four Raiders to score in double figures, scoring a game-high 18 points.

He also grabbed six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal in WSU’s 90-61 win over Cleveland State.

Michael Cooper scored a career-high 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. TJ Burch and Michael Imariagbe each scored 16 points.

Wright State improved to 21-11 overall and advanced to the semifinals in Indianapolis.

WSU went on a 17-3 run early in the second quarter to take control. They led 65-42 with 10:44 left in the game and never looked back.

Wright State’s next game will be Monday, March 9, the first semifinal game of the 2026 Horizon League Men’s Basketball Tournament.

The announcement will be held at the Corteva Coliseum in Indianapolis at 7 p.m. The Raiders will face the winner of Green Bay/Northern Kentucky.
