Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Is Coming to PS5 Later This Year

GSC Game World’s survival horror shooter “Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl” will be coming to PS5 later this year, the developer announced Wednesday. The first-person shooter originally released last year on Xbox Series S/X and PC. STALKER 2 was developed by a Ukrainian studio during the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and despite experiencing technical problems upon release, it still sold over 1 million copies.

“Stalker 2” announced for PS5

“Perimeter is expanding – STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl is officially announced for PlayStation 5,” the developer said in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday. GSC Game World did not reveal a platform release date, but confirmed the game will release on PS5 in late 2025.

The developer said that Stalker 2 on PS5 will support the full functionality of the DualSense controller, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. GSC Game World says further technical enhancements for the PS5 Pro version of the game are also in development.

STALKER 2 is now wishlisted on the PlayStation Store.

GSC Game World also rolled out patch 1.5.1 for STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl on Wednesday, which brings a host of fixes to PC and Xbox Series S/X. The game was riddled with bugs and glitches when it launched last year, some of which have been addressed by the developers in subsequent patches.

STALKER 2 will be released on PC and Xbox Series S/X on November 20, 2024 after multiple delays. After releasing an extended gameplay trailer at E3 2021, GSC Game World initially set the game’s release date as April 2022. Development was severely hit after Russia invaded Ukraine. Some GSC Game World employees have also been deployed to the front lines of the conflict.
